Synopsis:
When Edme’s grandam is nanny-napped, Edme finds herself taking on the role of the hero whom she admires from bygone tales. But the path is winding and dangerous! Met with creatures from Scottish folklore, Edme discovers just how difficult being a hero can be.
Authors notes: One of Emily’s motivations for Edme was to make book that she hoped would draw-in and captivate the viewer as certain picture books have captivated her as a child. She leaned into old impressions of art that set her onto the path of illustration long before she knew she would be an illustrator. Along with this inspiration Emily wished to share elements of Scottish folklore and history; some traditions of which were a part of her upbringing. A glossary of notes about the creatures, poems and other historical elements can be found at the end of the book.
